Reserve a participant spot for the Wauhaus x TTK: Nurture performance
Select a suitable date below and reserve yourself a participant spot for the performance. The performances are available in both Finnish and English. By taking the participant spot, you take part in the realization of the performance together with the artist, Samuli Laine. The performance takes place in EMMA’s exhibition space as part of In Search of the Present exhibition. Other museum visitors can observe the performance as part of their exhibition visit.
The participant spots are for adults. The performance is included in the museum admission fee (0–20 €).
About the performance:
Nurture is very simple. It consists of three parts in which, together with the participant, gestures of care and life‑sustaining acts are explored. Care is given and received. The work revolves around encounter and presence. The performance strongly engages the senses of taste, touch, and smell. Alongside what is seen and heard, sweat, the warmth of soapy water, the aroma of birch sap, and a silicone breast cup communicate with one another and create meaning within the work.
Duration: 25 minutes
For the participant:
- During the performance, the participant will be in close contact with the performer (Samuli Laine). Laine will feed the participant birch sap using a silicone breast cup.
- All tools used in the performance are carefully disinfected after each session.
- Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before the performance. Samuli Laine will meet you in front of the museum’s ticket desk, guide you to the work, and go through the practicalities related to experiencing the performance.
Cancellations:
If you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation by emailing info@emmamuseum.fi by 10:00 on the morning of the event. A fee of 20 € will be charged for reservations that are not cancelled.
Even if the performances are fully booked, don’t lose hope! We recommend checking the reservation link again on the morning of the event in case of last-minute cancellations.
