In this workshop, we’ll explore the basics of freeform crochet by hand, guided by knitwear designer Juha Vehmaanperä. Freeform crochet doesn’t follow strict patterns or instructions, and is suitable for participants of all ages and skill levels. You’ll learn the fundamentals of hand crochet and get to experiment with creating either a two-dimensional surface or a three-dimensional accessory.

You can visit the non-stop workshop at any time. For all ages. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Adults can also participate in the workshop without a child. Knowledge of Finnish language is not required.

Juha Vehmaanperä is a Helsinki-based knitwear designer and textile artist. His work explores identity and community through craft-based DIY collections. Vehmaanperä’s designs have been featured at the Hyères Fashion Festival, Dutch, Icelandic and Helsinki Design Weeks, and worn by artists such as CL and Tate McRae.

Included in the museum entrance fee (20/10€, free entry for under 18-year-olds).

We accept the Museum Card.
