Safer space for all – EMMA’s policy

© Ari Karttunen / EMMA

We all share responsibility for making EMMA a safer, inclusive museum. We build trust and safety by treating each other with respect and dignity.

We let everyone be themselves.
We treat everyone as equals.
We respect each other’s personal space and art experience.
We make no assumptions about anyone’s sexual orientation, gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, value system, socio-economic background, health status or abilities. We treat others and their experience with sensitivity.
All forms of discrimination and harassment are prohibited.
Racist, homophobic and transphobic language and behaviour are not condoned.

We foster open discussion.
We hear and respect the opinions of others and keep our minds open to new perspectives.
We welcome feedback about our museum and address all grievances.

We intervene if we observe any inappropriate behaviour.
We expect all visitors to respect our safer space for all policy, to which our personnel is also committed.
If you notice any inappropriate behaviour on our premises or wish to raise a concern, please contact EMMA’s personnel or share your input by filling in our online feedback form below.
