Día de los Muertos – Day of the Dead
Día de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is a celebration observed in Mexico and across Central America to remember and honour loved ones who have passed away. Celebrated from the final days of October until 2 November, its roots lie in Indigenous traditions that have later blended with Catholic customs. According to tradition, the spirits of the deceased return to visit their loved ones during this time, and homes and graves are decorated with flowers, candles, and offerings. Togetherness, music, and joy play an important role in the celebration, where death is viewed as a natural part of the cycle of life.
The event is organised in collaboration with Ninho Association.
Included in the museum admission fee (0–20 €).
