Musician Sanni Virta will perform on the kantele in the Karin Hellman and Dialogues exhibitions. The atmospheric music will be heard in two sessions of approximately 40 minutes between 2:00 and 4:00 PM.

Sanni Virta (MuM, MA) is a cultural producer, executive director, and kantele artist based in Espoo. She works as a project coordinator in an initiative promoting equal opportunities for disabled and sign language artists. She also serves as the executive director of the Finnish Kantele Association and as a producer at the Folk Music Institute.

Virta’s 2017 album features her own pop- and jazz-influenced compositions set to texts by Finnish poets such as Aila Meriluoto. She has also released contemporary folk music based on improvisation with her group Duo Selina (2019). Over the years, the duo has performed actively at events such as the Etno-Espa Festival and the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival.
