Rudolf Steiner: Designer Of The Everyday
The exhibition Designer of the Everyday – Rudolf Steiner is the first comprehensive study of the thinking and works of Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925), and of his wide-ranging cultural influence. On display are nearly 400 objects, from artworks to furniture and scale models. Designer of the Everyday is the first exhibition in Finland by the world-leading Vitra Design Museum.
In addition to anthroposophy, exhibited are Steiner’s works in the visual arts, architecture, as well as industrial and set design. In addition, the exhibition presents pieces from artists in Steiner’s time. Design from recent years showcases his continued influence.
The currency of Steiner’s thinking becomes evident in the expansive exhibition exploring questions of society, social wellbeing and ecology. These themes, as well as Steiner’s blackboard drawings were also highlighted in the Venice Biennale Central Pavilion this year.
