Anatomy and Art | EMMA Talks at the Ulla Wiggen – Passage Exhibition
In the 2010s, Ulla Wiggen painted several works depicting human internal organs in great detail. Her paintings appear realistic, but are they? Pauli Puolakkainen, professor of abdominal surgery at the University of Helsinki, will interpret the works from the perspective of his expertise. The tour will also feature chief guide Riikka Alanko from EMMA, who will discuss the background of the works from an art historical perspective. There will also be time for questions from the public.
