Jump into a time machine and travel back to the energetic 1990s with us! Rhythms, looks and beloved toys and characters lead you to experience both the nostalgia and the magic of the decade.

The much-loved weekend of events offers lots of fun things to do, including workshops, performances and music for all the family. The programme is inspired by art, architecture and history. The most important are, of course, shared joy and unforgettable experiences.

The Children’s Museum Festival is organised by EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, Exhibition Centre WeeGee, KAMU Espoo City Museum, Leikki – the Museum of Play and the Finnish Museum of Horology and Jewellery Kruunu. The festival collaboration also includes the Espoo School of Art and the Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth. In cooperation with AFRY.

Time and date

The weekend-long children’s 90s party will be held at Tapiola museums on 15–16 March, 2025 from 11am to 17pm. Museum Leikki and Museum Kruunu open their doors already at 10am on both days.

Venues and location

Tapiola museums: EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, KAMU Espoo City Museum, the Mauri Kunnas exhibition at Exhibition Centre WeeGee, as well as Leikki – the Museum of Play and Finnish Museum of Horology and Jewellery Kruunu across the yard. The Espoo School of Art and the Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth also provide creative activities.

Tapiola museums are located within walking distance of Tapiola metro station, at Ahertajantie 3 (Leikki and Kruunu) and Ahertajantie 5 (WeeGee Exhibition Centre: EMMA, KAMU and Mauri Kunnas exhibition). We recommend using public transport. EMMA’s website has videos with instructions to help you find your way from the metro station to the festival. Please note that there is a very limited number of parking spaces near the museums.
