April Jazz Club + WeeGee is a series of intimate concerts in museum surroundings. The series is a co-production between April Jazz Club, Exhibition Centre WeeGee and EMMA. On Fridays, we offer free admission from 3pm onwards.

The Silva Kallionpää Quartet, a fusion of four distinctive musicians that was founded in 2017, is not afraid to test its limits. The band’s unique collective sound and pattern-breaking expression both move and challenge audiences universally, regardless of the listener’s background. Violinist Kallionpää’s compositions inquisitively stretch familiar moulds and continually seek new paths of expression. In addition to jazz, Kallionpää’s open-minded approach is realised through and influenced by art pop and electronic music.

The quartet’s debut album, Unadaptable, was released through Eclipse Music to a positive reception in spring 2022. The group has attracted interest not only in Finland but also in international jazz circles. They are currently working on their next full-length album.
