April Jazz Club + WeeGee: Jonathan Bäckström Quartet
April Jazz Club + WeeGee is a series of intimate concerts in museum surroundings. The series is a co-production between April Jazz Club, Exhibition Centre WeeGee and EMMA. On Fridays, we offer free admission from 3pm onwards.
The Jonathan Bäckström Quartet is a Finnish-Swedish band comprised of young, emerging talents led by Jonathan Bäckström, a bassist and composer from Kruunupyy. The quartet’s expression goes from minimalistic soundscapes all the way to explosive and multi-layered free improvisation. Each musician adds their own unique voice to the mix, the collective result of which is a powerful musical statement.
