John Kørner: Tripoli – Lampedusa

Danish artist John Kørner has transformed EMMA’s gallery space into a three-dimensional painting into which the visitor can enter. Kørner’s art touches upon global topics such as migration and inequality to more personal themes such as identity, relationships and happiness.

Artist John Kørner’s art touches upon global topics such as migration and inequality to more personal themes such as identity, relationships and happiness, sparking the viewer’s imagination. His approach is however always poetic, open and leaves room for interpretation.

EMMA’s Chief Curator, Arja Miller interviewed John Kørner about his art and the exhibition. The entire interview is published in the book John Kørner: Tripoli – Lampedusa (2018) available at the EMMA Shop.
