Birger Carlstedt's The Society Machine was conserved in EMMA's exhibition space
The Society Machine was donated to EMMA Collection and now it has been conserved in EMMA's exhibition space. The work was on display at the Swedish social and municipal college in Helsinki since 1964. Under the decades the relief has collected dirt and it is partly damaged. Now the conserved relied is on display at EMMA's exhibition space. -
Tapio Wirkkala Rut Bryk design award goes to the bold ceramic artist Hinrich Kröger – the winner’s work will be on display for this weekend only!
“The award recognizes a furiously prolific artist whose exuberant work pushes the boundaries of good taste by ingeniously fusing the exquisite fragility of porcelain with trash aesthetics and erotica,” comments Kalha and Lautenbacher. A selection of Kröger’s porcelain pieces will be on display at EMMA’s Bryk Wirkkala Visible Storage for one weekend, October 18–19, 2019. -
The Fine Arts Academy of Finland Prize to Aaron Heino – read EMMA's full programme for 2020
The programme is opened by the internationally acclaimed Tacita Dean’s first extensive solo exhibition in the Nordics. In the fall, the world-famous artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset will create a new work for EMMA as part of their exhibition. The year will see several new works by Finnish artists and a solo exhibition by Aaron Heino, who has recently been awarded The Fine Arts Academy of Finland Prize.
