Michael Jackson: On the Wall becomes one of EMMA’s all-time visitor successes
The Michael Jackson: On the Wall exhibition, which closed over the weekend, reached its goal of 80,000 visitors, becoming one of EMMA’s most popular exhibitions of all time. The exhibition saw a total of 88,748 visitors and was on display from 21st Aug 2019 to 26th Jan 2020. -
The internationally acclaimed artist Chiharu Shiota will create a large spatial installation for EMMA in autumn 2021
Since 2018, the collaboration between EMMA and Saastamoinen Foundation has seen works created by topically relevant international artists, tailored site-specifically for EMMA’s unique space. The fourth artist in the collaboration is Chiharu Shiota, who is known for her impressive spatial artworks, where she combines vast webs of threads with various everyday objects. -
Birger Carlstedt's The Society Machine was conserved in EMMA's exhibition space
The Society Machine was donated to EMMA Collection and now it has been conserved in EMMA's exhibition space. The work was on display at the Swedish social and municipal college in Helsinki since 1964. Under the decades the relief has collected dirt and it is partly damaged. Now the conserved relied is on display at EMMA's exhibition space.
